Overview
CytoPure™ GI Human Platelet Lysate — Gamma-Irradiated, Fibrinogen-Depleted, Xeno-Free (Catalog #1910) delivers the same growth factor–rich, xeno-free performance as CytoPure™ XF, with terminal gamma irradiation adding a pathogen risk-mitigation step for applications and workflows that call for one.
Like the rest of the family, it is fibrinogen-depleted, minimizing fibrin and gel formation without supplemental heparin. Multiple donor units are pooled in large batches to minimize lot-to-lot variability, and every lot is released against defined specifications with a Certificate of Analysis.
Terminal gamma irradiation is applied to filled bottles at an internal dose of 25–38 kGy, confirmed by dosimetry. It is the only processing difference between CytoPure™ GI and CytoPure™ XF — composition, release specification and directions for use are identical. As a product of human origin, CytoPure™ GI is handled as potentially infectious material under Biosafety Level 2 practices, as with the rest of the family. CytoPure™ is typically added to culture medium at a final concentration between 2% and 10%. Optimize for each cell line and application.
Yes. Human platelet lysate is a human-derived, xeno-free alternative to FBS. Transitioning generally requires only adjusting the supplement concentration for your cell type.
Ships frozen; store at −20 °C, or −80 °C beyond 12 months. Thaw in a 37 °C water bath until no ice remains and aliquot to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Cloudiness or particulate after thawing is normal.
