CytoPure™ XF
Best for xeno-free workflows
Fibrinogen-depleted and xeno-free with no added heparin — for translational and cell therapy pathways.
Human Platelet Lysate
Growth factor–rich, fibrinogen-depleted human platelet lysate with heparin included — a reliable, high-performance replacement for FBS in routine MSC and primary cell culture.
Overview
CytoPure™ PLUS Human Platelet Lysate — Fibrinogen-Depleted (Catalog #1908) is a growth factor–rich cell culture supplement derived from human platelets, with heparin included in the formulation. Fibrinogen depletion minimizes fibrin and gel formation during media preparation and use, so no supplemental heparin is required in culture.
Multiple donor units are pooled in large batches to minimize lot-to-lot variability, and every lot is released against defined specifications with a Certificate of Analysis. CytoPure™ PLUS is a straightforward, high-performance replacement for fetal bovine serum in routine research.
The CytoPure™ Family
All three are fibrinogen-depleted. Choose based on heparin, xeno-free status, and whether you need gamma irradiation.

Quality & Compliance
Human platelet units are collected at our FDA-licensed, AABB-accredited U.S. blood-center network operating under GMP standards, then manufactured under a rigorous quality management system.
Applications
Our full performance data is in primary human mesenchymal stromal cells. T-cell and NK-cell cultures have been evaluated for viability and function, though not for expansion kinetics. For other cell types we publish the starting concentrations reported in the literature, with citations.
Documentation
Everything your quality and procurement teams need for supplier diligence. Every document carries a number, a revision and an effective date, so you can cite the exact one you reviewed.
FAQ
Yes. CytoPure™ PLUS includes heparin in the formulation, so you do not need to add a separate anticoagulant. If you require a xeno-free product with no added heparin, see CytoPure™ XF.
Standard platelet lysate contains fibrinogen, a clotting protein that can gel your media. Depleting fibrinogen during manufacturing minimizes clot formation for simpler, more consistent handling.
All three are fibrinogen-depleted. PLUS includes heparin and is intended for routine research. XF is xeno-free with no added heparin. GI adds a gamma-irradiation step for additional pathogen risk mitigation. See the comparison table above.
CytoPure™ is typically added to culture medium at a final concentration between 2% and 10%. Optimize for each cell line and application.
Yes. Human platelet lysate is a human-derived alternative to FBS. Transitioning generally requires only adjusting the supplement concentration for your cell type.
Ships frozen; store at −20 °C, or −80 °C beyond 12 months. Thaw in a 37 °C water bath until no ice remains and aliquot to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Cloudiness or particulate after thawing is normal.
