Human Primary Cells for Research
Hematopoietic CD34+ stem cells are available from two sources: bone marrow, and cord blood. Bone marrow aspirate is drawn from the posterior iliac crest from healthy donors, and CD34+ stem/progenitor cells and mesenchymal stem cells are then isolated. Cord blood CD34+ stem cells are isolated from human cord blood that is collected at the time of delivery from healthy pregnant women.
